Pocono Area Swimming Competitive started long ago with local summer leagues at Shawnee which later lead to the East Stroudsburg High School Swim Team in 1961 which was the only High School Swim team in the area until the 1980's. In 1976 the Pocono Family YMCA Swim Team was created and it's parents group worked with local schools to restart the East Stroudsburg High School Swim Team in 1986 and the Stroudsburg High School Swim Team in 1987 and the Pocono Mountain Swim Team in 1988.
